As we celebrate our 80th year of helping dogs and cats, we are looking forward to our 35th Reigning Cats & Dogs: Into the 80’s – Don’t Stop Believing! The party will be held on November 7.

Guess who is turning 80 this year? As we celebrate 80 years of helping homeless dogs and cats, we are looking forward to seeing you this fall at the 35th Annual Reigning Cats & Dogs: Into the 80’s – Don’t Stop Believing! The big event will be held Saturday, November 7, from 7-10 PM with a special Champagne Preview for Sponsors at 6 PM. The event will take place at the Little Rock Historic Train Station’s Next Level Events, where supporters will come together to support HSPC and its Emergency Medical Fund and celebrate our 80th Year of operation in Pulaski County!

As always, the event will kick off with a red-carpet entrance for our four-legged friends looking for a home, followed by a live and silent auction with mobile bidding, and complimentary appetizers, wine, beer, and champagne. Whether you have been a past faithful supporter or someone new, know that your donations will help support our rescued animals, particularly those with emergency medical needs.

Marjorie is an adorable black-and-white slick-coated Labradoodle mix. Sadly, after she was adopted as a puppy, she was run over by a vehicle and suffered for several weeks without medical care until we got her back. Through two surgeries, including the amputation of one leg, she remained determined and kind! After months of medical treatment and rehabilitation, our amazing Marjorie was finally adopted by an awesome couple who met her at the Barkus on Main adoption event. Everything was perfect except for one thing. Her brother, Heisman, who was originally adopted with her, was not returned to HSPC.
Fast forward two years, and through the miracle of the microchip, we
found out that an animal control agency in Texas had picked up Heisman.

He had been abandoned and would likely be euthanized unless we
stepped in. It was arranged that a volunteer who had become an
advocate for the dog meet us halfway in Dallas. This very sweet pup, who deserved life, returned to our shelter that day! Marjorie’s adopted
parents decided to welcome Heisman (now Arthur) into the family, as
well. Now the reunited siblings play themselves to sleep every day! In this case, our emergency medical fund not only saved one life, but two!
