On Saturday, Aug. 26, the Humane Society of Pulaski County and Arkansas Heart Hospital will host “Paws for the Heart,” a special adoption event celebrating the health benefits of dog ownership, with a special focus on heart health. Held on International Dog Day, the two organizations will join forces to find loving homes for rescue dogs and highlight the tremendous health benefits they bring to our hearts and lives.
To further encourage pet adoption and promote heart health, every adopter on August 26 will receive a free Keep the Beat heart screening at Arkansas Heart Hospital. Valued at $99, the Keep the Beat screening offers a clear picture of an individual’s heart health, allowing them to take proactive steps towards a healthier heart. Additionally, all adopters will be entered for a gift basket, including a shirt, hat, towel, frisbee, koozie and dog-friendly items.
Health Benefits of Dog Ownership: Experts from Arkansas Heart Hospital will be on hand to explain the positive impact dogs have on our hearts. Plus, every adopter will walk away with free swag.
