• Request a Kroger Gift Card from our fundraising coordinator (below)
• Present your Gift Card at Guest Services or cashier and reload the card for any amount from $5 to $500
• Use cash, check or credit card to load the card
• Good for groceries and fuel at Kroger!

For every $5,000 we reload on the Kroger Fundraising Gift Cards, our organization receives a 5% rebate! You can make an online donation of $5, which will be credited to your first purchase, and note on the online donation form that it is for a Kroger card, and I will mail you one. They will be available September 7, 2010

The Humane Society of Pulaski County sells HSPC Kroger Cards, a charity of Kroger Foods. This is making a HUGE difference in HSPC’s efforts to rescue and place homeless and suffering animals into loving homes and to otherwise foster humane treatment of companion animals.

A Kroger Card costs you $5, one time, and then you get that $5 back in groceries. Once purchased, a Kroger Card is forever. When just 200 families each buy one and have used it to purchase $50 worth of groceries each week for a year, Kroger will have donated $26,000 to the HSPC!

The HSPC Kroger Card is a type of debit card. Here’s how it works:

• One time, buy a special Kroger card from the HSPC for $5 (the cost will be applied to your first grocery purchase).
• When you shop at Kroger, show your HSPC Kroger Card at the front desk and pay to have added to the card the amount you expect your groceries to cost. Alternatively, you could put a larger amount on the card, less frequently.
• When checking out, use your HSPC Kroger Card to pay for your groceries. If your bill is more, you make up the difference. If it is less, the credit remains on your card for next time.
• 5% of the amount of your HSPC Kroger Card purchase goes to HSPC! Reuse your card every time you shop-just pre-pay for the groceries (re-charge the card) each time you come in, or pre-pay less often for several anticipated grocery stops. All purchases are credited-pharmacy, etc.

You cannot buy the cards at Kroger. They must be bought through HSPC. The one-time $5 Kroger Card fee is not tax-deductable as an HSPC donation. Nor can you deduct Kroger’s donation of 5% of your grocery purchase amounts. But for your $5, you will benefit the HSPC by easily 30 times that amount in the first year alone!
